Why I created Heartside
For my dad.
And families like ours.

Six years ago, my father came to live with us. He was quite ill and could no longer care for himself. Caring for him meant keeping track of his medications, specialist appointments, and health details.
I wanted to be there for him. But there was so much to remember. A doctor would call, I’d jot down an appointment, and then that little piece of paper would disappear. I needed somewhere to put it all—somewhere I could find it again.
The hardest moments were the ambulance calls. Someone would ask which medications he was taking, and suddenly the names I knew so well were hard to remember. When you’re worried about someone you love, even familiar details can slip away.
I looked for something that could help, but what I found felt too complicated or came with another monthly bill. I wanted a simple place for our family’s information. Something I could buy once, keep, and turn to when I needed it.
“I wanted to spend less time searching for the details, and more time being there for my dad.”
That’s where Heartside began. It grew from caring for my father and wanting to make the everyday organizing a little easier for families like ours.
Emergency Mode will always be close to my heart. Having a printed summary ready means you can hand over the details, even when worry makes the words hard to find.

A few things to know
Before you get started.
A little clarity before we get acquainted.
Who is Heartside for?
For anyone whose health details deserve a home beyond sticky notes and “I know I wrote that down somewhere.” Heartside helps you keep track of your own information or organize care for family members, with room for up to seven profiles.
Does it work on a Mac or phone?
Heartside is currently available for Windows. Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android versions are planned for the future.
Do reminders appear automatically?
Yes—Heartside can give you a little nudge! Enable reminders and keep the app open or running in the system tray. If you’ve enabled the startup reminder option, a pop-up can also appear when you open Heartside.
Keep your computer awake while Heartside runs in the tray. Reminders won’t appear while the computer is asleep, and they stop when you fully exit the app.
Is Heartside a one-time purchase?
Yes. One purchase, one less subscription to remember! The one-time price is CAD $89.99, paid once, with no monthly or yearly payments. You can keep using your purchased Windows version permanently on one active computer at a time.
What does my purchase include?
A little home for your family’s health information: your purchased Windows version, with profiles for up to seven people and no monthly or yearly payments. Your licence covers one active computer at a time. You can reinstall on that computer or transfer it to a replacement, but it doesn’t cover several computers at once.
Are updates included?
Yes! Fixes and minor improvements released for your purchased Windows version are included. If a future major upgrade has a price tag, the choice is yours—you can keep using the version you bought without purchasing the upgrade.
Can I reinstall Heartside or move it to a new computer?
Absolutely—new computer, familiar Heartside. Your licence allows one active computer at a time. Reinstall on the same computer, or deactivate the old installation before activating your replacement. If your old computer has called it quits or is unavailable, contact support for help releasing its activation.
Your health records need their own moving box: create a backup on your old computer, then restore it on the new one through Backup & Restore. Keep a safe copy of your backups in case your computer fails.
Internet access is required for activation and licence transfers. Heartside checks purchased licences daily when online and allows up to seven days of offline use after a successful check. If that allowance ends, reconnect to validate your licence. Your saved health records remain on your computer.
What computer do I need?
No fancy setup needed. Heartside is designed for a 64-bit Windows 11 computer, a screen with room for an 800 × 580 app window (1000 × 700 or larger recommended), and storage for your saved records, documents, and backups. A PDF reader is needed to view and print emergency sheets. Save a copy on your computer to open anytime without Heartside, or email it to yourself to keep a copy handy on your phone. Because it contains private health information, keep it somewhere secure. Optional online features need an internet connection.
The Windows download is approximately 24 MB.
What is the refund policy?
Enjoy the 15-day free trial before deciding—it’s a chance to see whether we’re a good fit. After purchase, change-of-mind refunds aren’t offered, including if you decide the software isn’t for you.
If something isn’t working as it should, we’re here to help. Email support.heartsidesoftware@gmail.com with your order number and a description of the issue. We’ll respond within 24 hours, including weekends and holidays. Please leave private medical information out of your email.
This policy does not limit refunds required by applicable law or the payment provider’s policies.
Can I hand the emergency sheet to EMS or the emergency department?
Yes. It’s one less thing to explain from memory in a stressful moment. Emergency Mode turns a family member’s saved health information into a printable summary you can hand over. Print it ahead of time and keep it handy. When medications, allergies, contacts, or other details change, update the profile and print a fresh copy. The sheet can only include information you’ve entered.
Is Heartside medical advice?
Think of Heartside as your organizer. It helps keep the information you enter together, but it doesn’t diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or provide medical advice. Your healthcare professionals are the people to turn to for advice and prescriptions.
Can I back up my information?
Yes—and future you will thank you! Backup & Restore lets you back up saved family information and imported records. Keep those backups somewhere safe. When you restore one, it replaces the app’s current saved information, so choose your backup carefully.
Privacy & care
Your information,
handled with care.
Your family’s health details have a home of their own: your computer. You decide what to share. Heartside helps with the organizing—no invitation to the family group chat required.
Home sweet home—for your records
Your saved health information and imported records stay on your computer during everyday use. They aren’t sent to Heartside. Backups go wherever you choose; if that’s a cloud-synced folder, your cloud service may upload them.
Give your computer, printouts, and backups a safe spot, too. Local storage doesn’t automatically encrypt files. And before adding someone else’s details, make sure you have their permission or the appropriate authority. Even family gets a say!
An umbrella check, not a health check
Turn on the weather and Open-Meteo receives your chosen location, coordinates, and connection details such as your IP address. Your health records aren’t part of the forecast—just a little help deciding whether the umbrella deserves an outing.
The purchase paperwork
When purchasing opens, Lemon Squeezy will handle customer, billing, and order information. Licence checks use your licence key and an installation identifier to allow one active computer at a time. Your saved health records stay out of that paperwork.
Curious about the details? Here’s Lemon Squeezy’s privacy policy. We’ll spare you a pop quiz.
A question? Pull up a chair
We’re happy to help. We use your email and any attachments to answer your questions. Please leave private medical records out of your message—a description of the problem is a lovely place to start.
Want to see, correct, or delete information we hold about you? Email support.heartsidesoftware@gmail.com. Some purchase records need to stay on file for legal or accounting purposes. The paperwork does have its little rules.
Keeping you in the loop
This website has no analytics or advertising tracking scripts. If our privacy practices change in a meaningful way, we’ll explain it here. No detective hat needed.
Your Heartside licence
Buy once.
One active computer.
Your Heartside, with room for the family. These licence terms explain your one-time purchase, trial, and support—so you know what to expect.
One purchase, room for seven
For CAD $89.99, you can keep using your purchased Windows version with up to seven family profiles on one active computer at a time. No monthly or yearly payments.
Your information remains yours, and the software remains owned by Heartside. Your licence is for personal use; please keep your key to yourself. It can’t be shared, resold, or used on several computers at once.
A little time to get acquainted
Your trial starts when you first open Heartside and lasts 15 elapsed days. After that, purchase and activation are needed to keep using the app. Your saved health records are retained. Reinstalling Heartside or restoring a backup doesn’t restart the trial for the same Windows account.
Your purchased licence has no expiry. Activation needs internet access, and Heartside checks the licence daily when online. After a successful check, you can use it offline for up to seven days; reconnect when that allowance ends to validate your licence.
New computer? Bring Heartside along
You can reinstall on the same computer, or deactivate your old installation and activate Heartside on a replacement. Your licence covers one active computer at a time. If your old computer is unavailable, support can help release its activation. Internet access is needed for activation and transfers.
Your family’s records make the move separately: back them up, then restore them on your new computer through Backup & Restore.
A little polish, included
Fixes and minor improvements released for your purchased Windows version are included. Any future paid major upgrade is your choice—you can keep using the version you bought without buying an upgrade.
Try it out, and ask us anything
Enjoy the 15-day trial before deciding whether Heartside feels right for you. After purchase, change-of-mind refunds aren’t offered. Refunds required by applicable law or payment-provider policies still apply. You can find the details in our refund policy.
Need a hand? Email support.heartsidesoftware@gmail.com. We respond within 24 hours, including weekends and holidays.
A little care for your records
Heartside helps organize the information you enter. Your healthcare professionals remain your source for medical advice, diagnosis, and treatment; Heartside doesn’t replace their care or emergency services.
Keep your records and reports up to date, and save regular backups. Reminders need Heartside running and your computer available, so keep another way to remember important care tasks, too.
We respond to support enquiries within 24 hours, including weekends and holidays. Please do not email private medical information.
We would also love to hear what you enjoy about Heartside. Email us your positive feedback or suggestions for features you would like to see in future versions of Heartside at support.heartsidesoftware@gmail.com. Your ideas help us understand what would be useful to you.
